BE KIND TO YOUR LIVER AND LIFE WILL BE BETTER!!

In this day and age, it is almost impossible to live a toxin-free life.  Daily intake of toxins takes a toll on your liver.  If you don't have a healthy liver, all your organs are affected.  As a result, you operate below optimum health.  Your liver will not tell you it is damaged until there is serious damage that slowly occurs over many years.  However, during that time, you will notice problem areas popping up, such as your moods, your thinking ability, your memory, your immune system, your energy level, your cholesterol levels, your digestion, your longevity, in fact, your total physical and mental/emotional health.

As an example, one of the most dangerous poisons that affect your liver is alcohol.  90% of the alcohol you consume is metabolized by your liver.  Your kidneys, breath and sweat eliminate the rest.  The least damaging amounts of alcohol to your liver are 8oz. of beer, one shot of spirits or 4oz. of wine PER HOUR.  If you drink more than this in an hour, you send your liver into toxic overload.  If you do this consistently, your liver will begin showing some of the subtle signs mentioned above.

Your liver is your friend; treat it with respect and it won't fail you.  It handles over 500 tasks essential for life.  In addition to detoxifying your body of poisons, it manufactures over 15,000 chemicals and 50,000 enzymes; it produces blood clotting factors; it manufactures bile for digestion; it makes cholesterol for adrenal and reproductive hormones; it stores vitamins A, D, E, K, B12 and folate, in addition to copper and iron.

To help your liver regenerate on a continuous basis, daily you should be drinking plenty of water (2 qts. per day), getting lots of fiber from raw foods, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, exercising, especially walking, which brings oxygen into your body (your liver consumes more oxygen than any other organ except your lungs), consuming pro-biotic foods such as plain kefir and yogurt, and periodically each year you should do a liver cleanse to re-charge your system.
